13 weeks!

I meant to start my bump pictures at 13 weeks, seeing as I'm already showing a bit, but this week is just too crazy and our house is just too disorganized still to set up a little bump tracking station! Crossing my fingers I'll get my shiz together for next week :)

How far along? 13 weeks 3 days
Total weight gain: Got weighed yesterday at the docs: 131.9  (Pre-pregnancy weight: 125lbs-127lbs.)
Maternity clothes? Still not yet, but it's mostly because I just haven't gotten my butt around to go buy some. I've tried looking at some basic stuff online (especially Old Navy and Target) but I just don't know what I'd feel comfortable in or what would fit best. I'm definitely over wearing pants though (even w/ the belly band. It's just so much easier to wear leggings or a dress!)
Stretch marks? Nope. Buttering that belly like mad, just in case
Sleep: It fluctuates. Yesterday I took a 2 hour nap after not napping for about a week, and still fell asleep around 9. David was staying at the office, and I always sleep worse when he's not home, so I'm still feeling pretty exhausted at work today. All in all, much less energy than last week :/
Best moment this week: Having a confirmed di/di pregnancy! Which basically means each little Bee has their own placenta and amniotic sac, which is the safest scenario of twin pregnancies. Yay, high fives you two!! David and I were so happy to hear that they're happy, healthy, and as safe as can be :)
Miss Anything? Putting on my clothes, and feeling great in them. These days, I put something on just to cover my bits, but I don't feel particularly amazing in anything. Which is kind of a bummer. (again...why I think I just need to go shopping ;)
Food cravings: Burgers!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not eating. On Saturday I had a huge breakfast, and then forgot to eat the rest of the day, probably until like 8pm (which I used to do all the time pre-pregnancy) and boy did that set me back! I was back on the couch, knowing I needed to carb up but had no appetite. It was not the best.
Gender:  Still unknown, but we'll find out at our 18 week appointment (aka forever away)
Labor Signs: Of course not, phew!
Symptoms: Apart from the self-inflicted sickness of not eating, feeling pretty tired this week for some reason...
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! We told a lot of David's family our twin news on Sunday and they were all so supportive and lovely. It was a nice boost of confidence knowing we have so much love in our lives
Looking forward to: Feeling pretty in my clothes again, and getting our house more organized!

Last week of the 1st trimester!

I am grateful for my family this week.

How far along? 12 weeks 3 days
Total weight gain: this definitely fluctuates! Some times of the day, I'm 128 other times I'm 132 so this week is funky with my weight  (Pre-pregnancy weight: 125lbs-127lbs.)
Maternity clothes? No, but I need some! Pants are uncomfortable and I'd like to get some more flowy tops. Those babies are starting to show! (Hopefully Bump Watch will start next week!)
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: Good lately! Sleepiness kicks in late-afternoon, but I can usually hold it together until like 9-10. And I don't have epic sleep marathons anymore really (with the exception of last night, when I went to bed at like 7:30 and woke up at 6:30. But I had just flew back from Atlanta, so I feel like it was justified!)
Best moment this week: Flying out to finally see my sister, her ring, her lovely fiance, and spending quality girl time with my mom and Aunt Dee.
Miss Anything? Eating, and not having burpies immediately after. I eat cereal and start to burp. Woof.
Food cravings: None, really.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing that comes to mind. I feel like I got pretty lucky in terms of food craving/aversions and heightened smells. There's nothing that really has staying power.
Gender:  I'm hoping we might find out at our next doc appointment on Monday, but I'm not betting on it
Labor Signs: Of course not, phew!
Symptoms: Oh man, did a monster headache hit me this week! I never get headaches, and never really knew what the big deal was. But o.m.g. do they suck. For about a day and a half I suffered with what I have self-diagnosed to be an excruciating tension headache, which traveled from the bottom of my neck up to the top of my head. I finally caved and had Sweet Love go out and get me some Tylenol. After that monstrosity, just an overall feeling of fatigue (though not as overwhelming as it has been) and my nausea is pretty much gone! High five, angels!
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! Surprisingly, no twin freakouts this week ;)
Looking forward to: Seeing babies again next Monday, wrapping up things at work (wow...is that place a stress-hole), and starting the lovely 2nd trimester!!

Seeing the Bunchies Again

Today we had our first 'official' ultrasound, scheduled because we're having twins. And boy was it an adventure! When I had first called to reschedule the appointment the nurse had originally made for me, I was given strict instructions from the nurse on the phone to start drinking 32 oz of water an hour before the appointment, because my bladder had to be very full. Being the diligent, rule-following thing that I am, I chugged 2 1/2 big glasses of water an hour before. So by the time we get to the appointment, I was DYING. Not only do I have to pee pretty much constantly these days, but I had what felt like an elephant supply of water in my bladder that needed.to.come.out. It was agony.
I was proud however, when the nurse finally called my name and I strode into the exam room, figuring this would take 5 mins, and then I could find sweet sweet pee relief, knowing that all the uncomfortableness was worth it so they could get a good scan for the doctor.
Boy was I surprised when I got reprimanded for drinking so much water. The nurse told me that not only was my bladder TOO full (what?!) but that since I'm pregnant, I didn't need to be drinking any water for ultrasounds. She legitimately scolded me, like it was my idea to feel like I have to pee all over the exam table as she pushed all over my belly. After a bathroom trip, and a moment of near tears, I got back on the exam table, David came in the room and we were able to gaze at our babies strong heartbeats, and Baby A (we think) moving and dancing around a TON! It was just the most beautiful thing ever. So worth all of the agony and admonishing ;)

How far along? 11 Weeks today!
Total weight gain: still about 4lbs.  (Pre-pregnancy weight: 125lbs-127lbs.)
Maternity clothes? Still not yet, although my belly band arrived, and I've loved fitting into my skinny jeans again ;D
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: Still tired all the time, I just woke up from a 2 hour nap actually! (It's almost 4pm.) I am finding that I'm super alert and feeling almost fine in the mornings though
Best moment this week: Seeing baby bunchies heartbeats! Loving how strong they are! Also (not tied, but falling closely behind) is when the irate nurse said our babies were 'perfect' :)
Miss Anything? Today, sushi. OOOOOOOH sushi.
Food cravings: Still on a strawberry kick. I've been eating fruit and pieces of cheese a lot.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Only when David eats something particularly strong, and then wants to kiss me!
Gender:  I'm hoping for a boy/girl combo ;D
Labor Signs: Nope.
Symptoms: Nausea mostly at night now, and just overall fatigue constantly.
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! Beyond happy. I'm having less 'omg we're having twins' freak outs, which hopefully will be gone till 3rd trimester haha
Looking forward to: Showing our families our ultrasound pics. We've got the babies in the same picture this time, and it's truly miraculous

Surprise, it's twins!

I've known for a few weeks now that I'm pregnant. For the last 10 weeks, to be exact. I knew from the first day after I missed my period that I was pregnant (not that I didn't have my 'ohmygod maybe I'm not!' freak outs). But yesterday we got the biggest surprise of our lives! Twins!! And I was laying there, praying for a heartbeat and a healthy measurement! Little did we know we'd be getting two healthy heartbeats/measurements! Since this pregnancy has taken a turn for the more thrilling, I thought I'd start documenting how I'm feeling, my fears, my excitement, so that later I can share with those two babes how they got to this world :)

How far along? 10 Weeks 3 days
Total weight gain: 4lbs.  (Pre-pregnancy weight: 125lbs-127lbs.)
Maternity clothes? Not yet!! Still holding out, although I've been looking around. Still just feeling bloated rather than 'popped'. Mostly wearing leggings, dresses and tights, and a few regular pants still, woo!
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: Tired all the time. I've been falling asleep around 9pm against my will! Because I've been experiencing insomnia at night too! Best of both worlds?
Best moment this week: Seeing out little babes on the ultra sound machine! (and finding out there's two in there!)
Miss Anything? Sandwiches! Sandwiches have got to be my most favorite thing to eat, so I nearly cried when I was told lunch meat was a no no. Togo's turkey sandwiches are like, my ultimate comfort food.
Movement: Nothing yet, obviously!
Food cravings: Strawberries and watermelon this week. Thank goodness! I'm still craving burgers pretty much all the time.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing specifically, thank goodness. I haven't been sensitive to smells either!
Gender:  Unknown! But I know David is hoping for at least one boy! ;)
Labor Signs: Nope.
Symptoms: Dizziness and stuffy nose are the weirdest and most consistent. Nausea is throughout the day, but mostly hits when I try to do too much at once (like kneading scone dough, apparently!)
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!! But since yesterday's big news, flitting between super excited, to totally overwhelmed, to totally freaked out, to super excited again. It's a roller coaster in my head right now.
Looking forward to: Getting a smoothie right after this post! We've got another ultra sound scheduled for next week, so definitely looking forward to seeing those little bodies on the screen again! And I'm looking forward to getting some libido back! Poor David ;)
